I was born in Kalispell, Montana (1/17/53) and born-again a few years later in Omaha, Nebraska where my parents were preparing for missionary service in Brazil with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE). After graduation from highschool there, I returned to the U.S. to study at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. Part way through my studies there, I met and married a pastor’s daughter from Idaho – Phyllis Obenchain and we returned to Brazil together to teach at the Berean Baptist Seminary and Institute in Natal. During that time God blessed us with three children: Serena, Susie, and Chuck. An interest in Jewish evangelism led us to Sao Paulo (by way of Jerusalem, for three years, where we planted a church). After four years in Sao Paulo, we were able to return to Israel for another twelve years with The Master’s College, working in their Israel/Bible Extension (IBEX) semester-abroad program. Five years ago now, we left Israel to serve the Lord as Senior Pastor at Meridian First Baptist Church in Meridian, Idaho.
